Yohji Yamamoto creates a wearable sculpture from fabric, air and movement. The deep, gathered shape does not hang dutifully on the body, but works with it: sometimes graphically, sometimes softly, sometimes almost theatrically.

The high waistband, the narrow straps and the irregularly modeled width create a silhouette between skirt, dress and object. The technical, dark surface keeps the look urban and clear - great over a narrow long sleeve, on its own with a tank top or as a radical layer under short jackets.
